CWSL - Rules/Policies

Game Start:  All games will start on time unless the referee allows a 5 minute grace period of the scheduled start time due to lack of players or field issues. The 5 minute grace period also determines if the game is deemed a forfeit. As soon as both teams have at least 8 players, the game should begin. Teams must forfeit if they have less than 8 players after the 5 minute grace period.

CWSL Guest Players: CWSL Guest Players must be CURRENTLY in the league. If a team is under 11 players, that team is allowed to have a maximum of two (2) CWSL Guest Players per game during each regular season game, equaling up to 11 players; goalkeepers are able to be CWSL Guest Players but are ONLY allowed to play as a field player. If members of the team, utilizing CWSL Guest Players, show up, the CWSL Guest Player(s) must step off the field and may NOT be used as a sub! There are no CWSL Guest Players allowed during Playoffs!

If we are in violation of our contract, we may be kicked off the fields and have nowhere to play.  Service Animals, as defined under the ADA, are permitted.

Safety is #1 - Remember we all have lives off the soccer field and at the end of the day, we are all playing for fun!

FIGHTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED: The referee will red card the player(s) and send the player(s) off the field. The Disciplinary Panel will collect details of the incident by email from the referees, captains and any players directly involved. Once a decision is made, an email will be sent with the final decision.

DISCIPLINARY PANEL: A panel of current players from various teams (excluding captains and league directors) to asses disciplinary actions of any player showing any behavioral issues or violent conduct in the league.

CWSL HARASSMENT STATEMENT AND NON-DISCRIMINATION AND STANCE AGAINST RACISM

Sexual Harassment: It is unlawful to harass a person because of that person's sex. Harassment can include sexual harassment or unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual  nature.

Harassment does not have to be of a sexual nature, however, and can include offensive remarks about a person's sex, gender, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, or age. Although the law doesn't prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that are not very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive environment. (Title  VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964)

At any and all CWSL sponsored events, including matches, social events, etc., Harassment will not be tolerated in any way. In the event that a Harassment scenario is brought to the CWSL Directors, it will be recorded and reviewed by the CWSL Disciplinary Panel who shall reserve the right for further discipline to individuals and/or teams. During matches, the match official is in charge and all accusations shall be brought to the official to then be recorded in the official match report. The CWSL Directors have a ZERO Tolerance policy towards Harassment and will render discipline on an a la cart basis allowing both the accuser and accused to be heard.

Discrimination of any kind against a team, private person or group of people on account of ethnic origin, gender, language, religion, politics or any other reason is strictly prohibited and punishable by suspension or expulsion from CWSL .
